About the event
Fun Fact! Brothers Emmanuelli Nater (Jose, Jorge, and Victor) students and friends of the famous Bomba Cepeda Family - with their Center for Cultural Research of Eternal Roots (Centro de Investigation Cultural Cultural Raices Eternas) - CICRE in Spanish - created in Puerto Rico during the 90s the so-called "BOMBAZO." they were devoted to "get down" the Bomba from the high stages so that way the Puerto Rican people and everyone else could participate and learn in the folklore music. Thanks to this today there are "Bombazos" in many parts of the world.
Waterbury will use this inaugural Bombazo to welcome and establish Bomba in the Brass City
Join us Sunday, August 28, 2022, 11 am - 3 pm.
We welcome organizations/info vendors, and art vendors and will have food trucks. The highlight will be the BOMBAZO and the dancing/drumming in the community.
This program and event are sponsored in part by New Opportunities Inc, Heart and Sole Dance Studio, the Afro Caribbean Cultural Center, Bomba de Aqui, CT Office of the Arts Artist Respond Grant and the National Endowment of the Arts.
