Rafael under the tutelage of Brendaliz Cepeda and Saul Penaloza is founding teaching/leading a Bomba Academy in Waterbury Connecticut.   Nelson for years has danced and trained under Brendaliz and Saul and now is launching as a solo artist a Bomba Academy and community learning space for residents of the Greater Waterbury Community.     The launch of this program is funded in part by the CT Office of the Arts, Artists Respond Grant, and the National Endowment of the Arts.  This Bomba Workshop series will serve as a way to bridge Afro Puerto Rican and non Puerto Rican's in Waterbury through the arts community, culture and conversation.

This program is FREE - limited space - Registration is required.   We are enrolling for Session 1 & Session 2! There are only  20 spots available for each of the two workshops - Bomba Drumming & Bomba Dancing.   (Note to make space and ensure Max participants if you are registered for both classes Nelson will reach out to you to see which of the two you'd like to participate in more.  To allow for 20 different people in each sub group.)  You can participate in the second session in the opposite workshop you participated in the first session.
